My Roots:  My interest in nutrition and natural living was peaked at an early age. As a young adult, I developed a wholesome lifestyle, but I still yearned for a better understanding of how food was affecting my body. This inclination toward healthy living led me to Boulder where I studied kinesiology at the University of Colorado. After obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I furthered my education while studying holistic nutrition at the Nutrition Therapy Institute in Denver, Colorado. After completing the two year program, I achieved my Master Nutrition Therapist (MNT) certification.

During school and upon graduation, I studied under various dietitians, collaborated with nutritionists on two different books and practiced nutrition in a hospital, doctors’ offices and privately.  Through my studies and personal exploration with different diets, workouts and lifestyle factors, I was able to truly heal. This journey, along with my passion for research and client interaction, led me to where I am today.
 
My Table:  I live for coconut products—coconut cream in coffee, a dollop of homemade coconut yogurt on a sweet potato and coconut oil for just about everything else. I love green smoothies, chocolate (my weakness), Himalayan pink sea salt, sushi, hummus, roasted brussels sprouts and cashews.
 
My Home:  Making time for myself is important. I always devote a portion of my day to self-care: dry brushing, deep breathing and oil pulling. Eating with awareness, filtered water, exercise and a consistent sleep schedule are necessities—along with essential oils (which make great cleaning supplies), Manuka honey face masks and glass tupperware.
