Give as a Gift Book as Private EventOur introductory course is designed for absolute beginners. In this course students will acquire an understanding of basic concepts and begin to develop their drawing skills. We shall start at the rudimentary level by understanding the potential of the materials we’ll use, namely pencil and charcoal.
We shall further study elements and principles of design and other crucial concepts through various exercises; these include: Point, line, value, shape, form (volume), texture, as well as composition, balance, rhythm, and symmetry. Students will also learn measuring technique (the means to achieving accurate proportion), how to understand three dimensional space in two dimensional terms by learning one-point and two-point perspective and foreshortening, as well as classical ways of achieving depth, such as through aerial perspective.
The study of color is excluded from the introductory drawing course.
