Enjoy the class. Teacher was enthusiastic to show us the technique and appropriate amount of time was given to make the artwork.

The class was amazing! The teacher was organized and generous with helpful information. We made tons of samples and a special project. I enjoyed meeting the other students and we all pitched in to clean up. I can’t wait to try shibori techniques and indigo dyeing.

Teacher always had classroom set up for lesson. Teacher constantly walked around the class giving instruction and encouragement to students where needed. Much appreciated. Enjoyed the class greatly. Will take more course horse classes.

This was a nice, varied introduction where we explored different mediums and subjects. We experimented with pencil, charcoal, and ink. The instructor, Lagaspi, made the class fun and also offered us flexibility to choose what we wanted to draw in the later classes. I am basically a total beginner and felt that I improved a lot over the course of the four classes.

Instructor was very hands on and available throughout all sessions. Instructions were clear and easy to follow-although require a lot of practice to learn the skill.
School provided ample supplies to create as many works as desired.
Class was an enjoyable introduction to wheel pottery

I wanted to like the class, I really did. I've heard so many positive things about 92y.
When you use the phrase "absolute beginner" and you have a teacher who doesn't want to go over the basics, then can you call that a beginner class? Such as, what kinds of brushes to use, how to use them in which situations, what a color wheel is, what complimentary colors are -- these are things I scrambled to learn on the internet in between the 1st and 2nd class, when I could see he wasn't going to teach us these basic things.
I suspect he's an excellent artist but just wanted to come in and do his thing and then leave. At one point he lost his temper and yelled (at the class): I can't answer all your questions ... some of this you're just going to have to figure out on your own! Mostly 60ish something women weren't going to have much of a reaction to someone having an outburst 20 years their junior. Most of the time he was very pleasant and I did learn a few things.
There were people in the class who had followed him from previous classes working on on-going projects. How could that be called an "absolute beginner class?"
I'm grateful to have had a live setting and to interact with others. Also, I enjoyed the chance to get gentle feedback from a nice man who I've heard is skilled at his craft. But most of what I learned in the past month as an absolute beginner was from watching youtube videos or reading books.
The experience turned into something stressful for me, something that could've have been avoided with a little more interest and patience as a teacher.

Fantastic course!! Josh is a great teacher, very patient and kind in how he guides and advises us. Everyone in the class successfully made something, many are coming back next semester. Loved it!
