Join Annette at The Knitting Tree in LA to learn how to knit a unique top-down sweater! This class will guide you through the process of determining the right size, understanding basic garment construction, and knitting the pieces. Say goodbye to sewing and hello to creative freedom with stripes and special stitches!
Top down sweaters are knit all in one piece. You know what that means??? No sewing and minimal finishing!! It's perfect for your first sweater!! It also allows you creative freedom to add stripes or special stitches!
It's time to dive into making your first sweater! Annette will guide you through determining the right size based on your measurements, knitting a gauge swatch (yes, it's vital for a sweater that will actually fit you!), understanding basic garment construction, knitting the pieces, and finally, finishing!
The class will meet 4 times, with several weeks in between for knitting.
Who is this class for?
You need to be comfortable with knits, purls, basic increases and decreases, and knitting in the round.
What you will need:
Bring a pullover that fits you well.
Please note this workshop is for adults only (ages 13 and up). I you can't make all sessions, contact instructor.
