Cooling can make up the vast majority of the overall cycle time for a part. This advanced course will allow the user to identify how to model in the cooling lines for a mold, and identify hot spots in the mold. The attendees will learn how to simulate traditional drilled lines, bubblers, baffles, and high conductivity inserts. Additionally, the attendees will review the key results that will allow for a more realistic cycle time prediction, and ways of optimizing the cooling to address any potential issues.
After the class, the student will be able to: Understand why mold cooling is important for part performance and appearance, Model in cooling lines, bubbler, baffles, and high conductivity inserts, Review key results to achieve turbulent flow in the mold and optimize cycle time, Set-up both steady state and transient cooling analyses, and identify when to use each analyses type
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
