This advanced course will highlight how mold designers and analysts can explore the benefit of optimizing their mold design for both structural integrity and cycle time optimization. The course will highlight how the user can combine a coupled mold filling simulation and structural analysis to identify if components in the mold (both part inserts and mold components) will move during the filling and packing stages. This information can be used to identify any potential fatigue issues in the mold, or thin wall sections created in a part that are more prone to part failure. The course will also introduce how to model in mold inserts that may be made from high conductivity inserts to determine how the part quality and cycle time for the part could be optimized. The course will highlight a workflow for cases where the mold already has a high-conductivity insert, or how to quickly model in the insert to evaluate the feasibility prior to modifying the mold design. Class Topics Include: Core-Shift Modeling, Mold Insert Modeling
Who Should Attend? New Autodesk Moldflow Insight Users Mold Designers (Both New and Experienced) Process Engineers
