Writing a great script is only the first step—getting it produced is where the real journey begins. This workshop is designed to guide writers and emerging filmmakers through the process of turning a screenplay into a finished project. Students will learn the practical steps of development, from building relationships with producers and production companies to understanding financing, pitching, packaging, and distribution.
The course breaks down how projects actually move from page to screen in today’s industry, including navigating independent film vs. studio systems, attaching talent, budgeting, and finding the right partners. Real-world strategies will be shared on how to network effectively, identify opportunities at festivals and markets, and avoid common mistakes that stop scripts from being made.
By the end of the workshop, participants will walk away with a clear roadmap for taking their script to the next stage—whether that means pitching to producers, assembling a team, or launching an independent production.
