GETTING TO THE HEART OF THE MATTER
Like meditation, writing is a practice, and when we stay out of the result and surrender to the process, magic happens. Sometimes life gets in the way. Sometimes we get distracted and the thing that is most important takes a backseat to the things that feel most urgent.
Women on the Verge of a Breakthrough is a weekly 2-hour gathering of eight dedicated women who come together to write and share their work in a creative and supportive environment that deepens over time. This is not a workshop to join for a month or two. Women on the Verge is a commitment to your writing. It is your sangha, your dharma, your place to connect, to grow, to take risks, and to soar.
Writers meet once a week live on zoom for stream-of-consciousness writing exercises, sharing of your works-in-progress and one-on-one feedback with your instructor/facilitator, Mary-Beth Manning.
COMMUNITY
- While writers work alone, we need a community to find support and to stay connected. Women on the Verge hosts a group forum where you are able to stay connected to your fellow women in the group on a daily basis.
DAILY CONNECTION
- Each morning you will receive a daily writing prompt in your inbox. You are free to write on the prompt and share it with your fellow writers in the private group forum.
GOAL SETTING
- Each workshop ends with the setting of personal and creative goals for the week, so that each writer can stay on task and hold herself accountable to her goals.
