Description

Learn how owners and developers equipped with a sound understanding of the phases, requirements and risks of the construction process can have a major impact on the success of the building project. Learn key components of the construction phase of a development project to effectively control the design and construction process, ensuring that every decision is made in the owner’s best interest.

Topics include:

the project team and its roles and responsibilities
project delivery methods
hard and soft development costs
construction insurance and contracts including general conditions.

Discuss budgeting and cost management, types of estimates, schedules, change orders, claims management, surety bonds, and mechanics’ lien.

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Refund Policy

Refund schedule for Digital and Social Media Marketing Certificate and Human Resource Management:

1 calendar week prior to first meeting: 100% refund
After one calendar week or 1st class meeting: 50% refund
After 2nd class meetings: No refund

Refund schedule for MCAT Workshop:

100% of the cost prior to the first class meeting.
20% of the cost if you drop after the first class meeting but prior to the second class meeting.
No refund after the second class meeting.

Real Estate Refund Policy:

For six-week courses: Students are eligible for a 100% tuition refund if they withdraw from the course before the official start date. If the course has already started, the refund schedule is as follows: 50% refund if the student withdraws before the third scheduled session. No refund thereafter.
For one-week intensive courses: Students are eligible for a 100% tuition refund if they withdraw from the course before the official start date. If the intensive has already started, the refund schedule is as follows: 50% refund if the student withdraws before the third scheduled session. No refund thereafter.

All requests for withdrawals and refunds must be submitted to [email protected] and will be processed based on the date received.

Fordham University School of Professional and Continuing Studies will issue a full refund for all cancelled classes.
