What you'll learn in this negotiation training:

Getting thanked for doing a 'good job' is nice, but thank you in a paycheck is much better! So why is that most women have such a hard time asking for a raise, or negotiating a higher salary with a new job offer? It’s crazy making, particularly when so much research shows that women are far more effective negotiators than men, with a much higher success rate of brokering agreements, finalizing the offer, and closing the deal. 

And yet…..when it comes to negotiating for ourselves….not so much! Why? Mindset, societal expectations, unconscious gender bias, and our very real fear of not being ‘Liked’ all play a role. Oh and let’s not forget to mention that little voice that says “If I just keep my head down and do a good job I'll be recognized and rewarded!” ....not!!!

Yes there are lots of external and internal reasons why it’s hard for women to ask for what we deserve, but there are also proven strategies, techniques and tactics to use when negotiating. And we’ll cover many of them in this class….you also receive customizable scripts you can follow to make your “ask” a lot smoother and more comfortable.

What you'll learn in this training:

  • Mindset: How to quiet that little voice so you can speak clearly, compellingly and confidently to your accomplishments and rationale when you make your request.
  • Metrics: How to quantify your request with hard salary data, and real life examples of how you saved and/or generated revenue that clearly show the metrics of your return to the bottom AND your future potential.
  • Messaging: Customizable scripts for use in asking for a raise, a promotion or a better salary offer. Talking points that will set you up for success.
  • Timing: When and how to make your ‘ask” for maximum impact, so that specific benefits and advantages of getting to yes are clearly communicated to the other party.

  • The #1 question you must ALWAYS ask in every negotiation
  • The best website for salary info, job functions, scope of duties, and titles
  • The one piece of info you never want to share
  • How to turn a “no this is not the right time…” into a “yes let’s do this!”
  • Where to find salary data to quantify your request and how to use it in your negotiation
  • How to create your gold, silver, bronze numbers so that you know when to walk away


How the course is structured:

90 minutes of negotiating strategies, financial formulas, and interactive exercises with lots of opportunities to ask your instructor questions.

About the Instructor

I am a life long Equal Pay Activist, I spent 25 years in corporate navigating and managing the special challenges created by gender bias. I believe that all women, of every color, should have equal access to equal opportunity, advancement and compensation in the workplace, and in the world. My mission is to support, encourage, and empower more women to ascend up the ranks of leadership, across every industry, all the way to the C suite.

Prior to becoming a certified coach, Lisa was an executive in sports television; a fast paced, exhilarating, unforgiving toxic environment. She is fluent in ‘bro speak’, and intimately familiar with the impact of male privilege on female leadership.

Virtual Class FAQ


What will be included in my Virtual Class package?

One ticket includes an access link to your live, online class. The class will be delivered via web conferencing software and feature a live, professional instructor who will walk you through a lesson as described above. You will have the opportunity to ask questions as well as participate from home.

How many people is my purchase good for?

Each ticket is good for one "device" (i.e. one computer, phone, tablet, etc. you'll be logging in from). This ensures we don't get more people in the class than the instructor can handle. Though we understand some people live together and will be working/learning together, the intent is that each class still allows for the same attention to attendees as if students purchased separately. Please be respectful of this!

Will I need anything from home to use in the class?

You will need a reliable Internet connection as well as a computer or device with which you can access your virtual class. We recommend you arrive to class 5-10 minutes early to ensure you're able to set up your device and connection. Additionally, if the class is more than just a lecture you will likely want any materials listed in the course description as "Materials Needed to Participate Fully", though you're welcome to purchase a seat and sit in and just watch.

Am I able to ask questions or interact with the class?

Yes, you'll both be able to ask questions using the chat function in the video hosting software as well as at certain intervals during the class via voice/audio. If the class winds up being on the smaller side, more spontaneous interaction/questions will be encouraged.


Do I have to show my video or speak during class?

While we recommend you do show your video and speak when encouraged to by the instructor, video and audio participation are never mandatory. We find classes have more fun experiences when people are engaging with one another, but understand not everyone will want to do so and that's ok!






Refund Policy

  • Cancellations made at least 2 business days in advance of the class will be honored with a refund less 5% cancellation fee.
  • Students who cancel less than 2 business days prior to the start time of the class will receive a credit towards a future class.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

In the event that an instructor or the school needs to cancel at the last minute, students will receive a refund less a 5% non-refundable registration fee.
