Claudia Gary

Teaches at The Writer's Center

Claudia Gary writes, edits, and composes (tonally) in Northern Virginia. She has presented workshops and conference panels in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. Her first poetry collection, Humor Me, was published in 2006 by David Robert Books; her second was a 2013 semifinalist for the Anthony Hecht Poetry Prize. She's been a finalist for the Howard Nemerov Sonnet Award, a Pushcart Prize nominee, and a poetry editor. 

Claudia's poems have recently appeared in American Arts Quarterly, Amsterdam Quarterly, Antiphon, Chronicles, First Things, Light, Loch Raven Review, Mezzo Cammin, Poet Lore, The Rotary Dial, String Poetand Trinacria. Her articles on health appear in The VVA Veteran, VFW Magazine and elsewhere.
