Exactly what I needed! I've been tearing my hair out trying to figure out my new site's control panel and WordPress coding. The instructor covered everything from registering domains, navigating the control panel, and of course, building through WordPress. The final day was extremely helpful as well, as he walked us through the source coding for all of the site's components.

Steven Newman, Was a terrific professor. He has real working knowledge of how to put together your own website by using wordpress. I liked that he showed us real life examples he is working on for other clients and that he is a working wordpress Art Director/designer in the field. I learned so much by taking this class and now have my own online porfolio website that looks amazing. If you are interested in putting together your own website, a shop, your online portfolio or blog take this class! You will have an amazing website by the end and he will take the time to show you how. He is patient and has a very dry sense of humor. I really enjoyed taking the class with Steven and will also be taking the class he teaches for UX UI development. I highly recommend this class to anyone interested in learning about wordpress and how to put together a beautiful, professional looking website.

This class did exactly what I needed it to do--introduce me to WordPress and show me the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. The instructor was clear and concise and accomplished a lot in a short time. He did promise to send us a link to the slide presentation so we wouldn't have to take copious notes. That hasn't arrived yet, but the class was only one day ago, so I'm hopeful that the link will come.

The teacher was very knowledgeable and the class was small enough that he was able to teach not only what was covered in the syllabus, but also a few things I needed to know for what I would be using WordPress for. It was fast paced, but in depth enough that I didn't feel lost. Overall, I feel like I got a lot out of the class.

The instructor was engaging, very knowledgeable, and got through a ton of material very quickly and without losing us along the way. Her handouts and visuals were useful. I particularly liked how tailored the course was to the realities of living in New York. You will be doing this kind of photography at home and your home probably has one good window that is nowhere near your kitchen. She was very helpful in ways to get around that. Highly recommend!

Very informative if you know NOTHING about WordPress. Will teach you basics & how to make your site look Presentable/Dynamic. Teacher was very helpful, spoke wonderfully, & answered any questions that we may have had. It was a small class of about 5 people, which i enjoyed, makes the class seem more focused and it helps with people trying to chat with each other. The discussion flowed very easily and he helped me understand everything, even things i thought i knew. It has definitely made me take a step back & slow down when it comes to my site. I took a lot of of this class and plan on applying it to my current job. They also provided coffee, water, and snacks. Which was greatly appreciated. We got 1 hour lunch around noon. Its in the middle of 14th st union sq. so there are plenty of food options. - **I Wish there was an extension to this class :)

I couldn't really tell what to expect from the class description or previous comments left. For the first few minutes they go over what blogs are and different kinds. Then we go straight into setting up a Wordpress account (if you don't already have one) and the bare basics to navigate, customize, and write your own blog. It such a great free offering from the NYPL. Our instructor (Belle I believe) was great!

Terry, the instructor I had is great! He improved everyone's wordpresses dramatically with plug ins, then taught some general wordpress theme customization tools (including html and css), then spent time catering to everyone's specific needs to fix problems with each person's wordpress. No one can properly teach all the ins and outs of such a complex program in 2 hours, but he covered as much as he could, giving you the tools to continue teaching yourself.

My business partner and I are independent Hairstylist, who were seeking someone to create a website for us. I was referred to Lynette, by Lynette's sister. Since working with Lynette, I really love the work she's been doing. She's very patient and pleasant, she gives us suggestions, she listens to our needs and wants, and gives us exactly what we ask for and bringing our visions to life. Lynette is very talented. My partner and I are very happy and very humbled that we have Lynette on our team. She comes highly recommended by us!

I thought that Scott was very good at getting us to understand the basics that allow for us to produce a high end website. He gave us tips and best practices when it came to WP specific needs, such as plug-ins and template options, and was able to answer all of our questions. I come from a digital production background, so I was able to grasp the technical aspects of this class very quickly.
