Description

Mark your calendars for our next literary event on August 3rd at Coucou LA in Silver Lake! We are happy to announce that our next book club will feature Bonjour Tristesse by Françoise Sagan, a timeless classic that delves into the complexities of youth and desire.

Coucou teacher Keveen, our resident literature expert, will guide the discussion, providing insights and fostering a deeper understanding of this remarkable novel. Bonjour Tristesse, published when Sagan was just 18, is a provocative exploration of teenage rebellion and emotional turbulence. Set against the backdrop of the French Riviera, the story follows Cécile, a young woman who confronts the intricacies of love, freedom, and the inevitable consequences of her actions.

This event is reserved for students in levels 4 and above, ensuring a vibrant and sophisticated discussion among advanced learners of French. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your language skills while diving into one of the most compelling works of 20th-century French literature!

This event requires you to have read the book prior to the book club. You can order the book online: Hard copy – Kindle – Audio book; local bookstore we recommend: Stories (Echo Park), Skylight (Los Feliz).

Reserved for students level 4 and above; take our placement test here if needed!

Refund Policy

  • Class transfer or cancellation/refund requests must be made at least 8 business days prior to your class start date. A 5% processing fee will applied towards refund requests.
  • After this date, refunds cannot be given under any circumstances and we can’t allow you to transfer your tuition to a different class.

In the event of low enrollment for a group class (4 people or less in a 10-person class), the school might reschedule the class to a later start date, combine two groups, or shorten the duration of the class as they see fit. In this case, students will have the option to transfer their credit to a different class or to get a refund if the new dates do not fit their schedule.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
