Explore the main styles and types of wine through sight, smell and taste. Gain the basic skills to describe wine accurately, as well as make wine and food pairings.

Who should attend:

This course is designed for new trade members specifically in the restaurant and retail sectors. This is also a good starting point for enthusiastic consumers looking for a strong overview of wine knowledge and a fun food and wine pairing. If you already have experience in the industry, you may start your WSET pathway with Level 2 classes.

Main styles of wines
Introduction to WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting Wines
Characteristics and styles of common grape varieties

30 multiple choice question exam
70% or better to achieve a pass
