Best QuickBooks Classes in San Diego

Quicken is a package of accounting software that was created by Intuit. Widely used by businesses of both small and medium size, it allows users to perform a wide variety of tasks including paying bills, creating invoices, tracking income and expenses, generating reports, and paying taxes. Many people say that QuickBooks is intuitive and relatively easy to use. This program is available by subscription, either online or in a desktop version. It has many automated features and tools that can save a lot of time. It also makes it easy to share content with other people. Overall, QuickBooks has become very popular worldwide.

Best QuickBooks Classes & Schools in San Diego

Students can find a number of San Diego schools that offer QuickBooks training. Computers Etc Software Training is located about 20 minutes north of downtown San Diego, and offers both beginner-level and more advanced QuickBooks classes in an in-person format. QuickBooks Online Training Beginning is designed for beginners. It runs for one day and costs $250. Students learn how to set up a new company, add vendors and customers, work with banking, and create reports. The average class size is six people.

QuickBooks Online Intermediate/Advanced is for students who have completed the beginner-level class, and want to learn more advanced skills. In this advanced class, they learn how to use payroll, how to create estimates and invoices, how to use time tracking and job costing, and how to set up 1099 tracking. The class also covers more advanced report features. It costs $250 and runs for one day. 

Certstaffix Training also offers QuickBooks training for residents of San Diego. Its classes run in a live online format. Cerstaffis has a one-day beginner class called QuickBooks Desktop Edition: Basic Course that costs $435. Students who take this class learn to set up a company, work with lists, set up inventory and invoicing, and process payments. They also learn to work with bank accounts, and enter and pay bills. Upon completion, students receive a certificate of completion. Certstaffix also allows a free retake within six months of the original course. Certstaffix Training was founded in 2008, and offers business and computer skills training across the United States.

Another option at this school is QuickBooks Desktop Edition: Advanced, which, like the beginner class, runs for one day and costs $435. This advanced class is intended to help users understand more complex QuickBooks features and functionality such as memorizing transactions, customizing forms, creating reports and graphs, tracking and paying sales tax, and using online accounts. It also covers managing company files, creating estimates, and tracking time.

Career Centers offers an online class called QuickBooks Level I, which covers basic QuickBooks skills. Students learn to create a company, customize a company file, work with vendors and customers, do banking, and understand reconciliation. This class runs for six hours and costs $229. Training is in a project-based form, and students also get the option to do a free retake within a year. There is also a Level II QuickBooks course. Career Centers is based in New York City, and runs business courses and corporate training in person and live online.

The Discovery Center also offers an online QuickBooks class for beginners. QuickBooks (Online) runs for two-and-a-half-hours. Tuition is $75, and students must also pay a $15 materials fee. The class begins with an overview of the architecture and navigation of QuickBooks, and then students practice using its different functions. They process business transactions and create reports. Instructors also compare the features and costs of each available QuickBooks version. The class runs via Zoom.

QuickBooks Jobs & Salaries in San Diego

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is a federal agency that collects and analyzes information about the country’s job market. It finds that many finance-related professions are likely to have steady job growth over the next ten years, with 8 percent predicted for Financial Analysts, 3 percent for Budget Analysts, and 4 percent for Accountants and Auditors. The agency notes that technological change is likely to affect the way people in finance do their jobs in the future. For example, it notes, “Some routine accounting tasks may be automated as platforms such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain become more widespread. Although it will increase accountants' efficiency, this change is not expected to reduce overall demand.”

According to a recent article by U.S. News & World Report, Accountant, Financial Analyst, and Financial Advisor are some of the best-paying finance-related jobs out there. Glassdoor provides salary estimates for many different finance-related occupations. It finds that in San Diego, a Financial Analyst earns more than $85,000 per year, and an Accountant earns close to $70,000. For a Financial Advisor, the average yearly salary is more than $120,000.
