I took the Spanish 1: Beginner course over the summer. I came to the course with some prior knowledge of basic greetings etc, but a complete novice in terms of having a conversation. Eric was our instructor with a group of around 7, the size of which made it possible for everyone to practice and have time for feedback before proceeding onward. We learned history, went through book lessons, and Eric would recommend great music every week for us to immerse ourselves in - and I still listen to many of the artists today. Throughout the course, my vocabulary, pronunciation, conjugation, and conversational skills have dramatically increased; as a dentist, this has allowed me many opportunities to connect with my Spanish-speaking patients, and I am so glad to have taken the course. Looking forward to joining the intermediate course during the winter. Thank you!!!
Alex is awesome. Very patient and engaging with the class. I learned a lot and look forward to taking the next level.
This course is appropriate for someone who has perhaps done a language application and wants to test out what they’ve learned in the classroom. This course is not for a beginner with little to no previous exposure or instruction. I lived in Morocco for four years where I chose to focus on learning Arabic rather than French. In this course, I was able to manage the first few sessions without much sweat. However, the instructor flew through way too much material. It was kind of like cramming an entire language into a several hour-long class. I wish there were more speaking opportunities in the course. The instructor spoke too much. We had insufficient time to practice the material before moving forward to the next part of the lesson. I would recommend going with an teacher/tutor.
I enjoyed this course, the professor was patient and very helpful. I recommend this class.
Took the beginner Spanish class, which has been a lot of fun. Lower stress as our teacher (Eric) has been adaptable to our differences in experience (most of us being complete novices). We spent some time talking about the theory in both English and Spanish, listened to a lot of good music, and got put on the spot with the expectation that we had studied previous exercises. Overall happy with the experience and feel more confident in my abilities - looking forward to progressing further!
Class itself was fine. The instructor was attentive. My issue was it was a free trial class night when most people, in the French class, paid $5 via coursehorse. Also physical discount cert for classes was $35, on the web $40.
it was an amazing hour ! thank you I will be signing up for the 8 week in January :)
Kelsey has been a fantastic teacher! It was a relaxed environment and that really helped me absorb info much faster. Learned very conversational phrases that my French friend was pleasantly surprised when I used some of them on her!
The teacher is very knowledgeable. But he should have spoken and taught in complete or mostly in Spanish. Too much English explaining.
