What you'll learn in this medical training:

This course is designed for current Allied Health Professionals and Clinical Research Coordinators to learn how to perform EKGs on patients under the supervision of a Medical Professional and Phlebotomy to collect and prepare blood and other specimen collections ordered by a licensed Health Provider. This course teaches both skill competencies to make you more marketable within the health care field. [Note: All hand on skills will be done using simulation manikin]

Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a Certificate of Completion. This class does not qualify you to sit for the National Certification exams.


School Notes: Please don't forget to bring a valid ID. Students registering on or after the first day of class shall be assessed a non-refundable late registration fee of $10.00.

Refund Policy

Students unable to attend the courses they have
registered for, must inform the Continuing Education department in writing that they wish to withdraw. Failure to complete the course DOES NOT constitute official withdrawal, nor does notification of the instructor. (This only applies to students that have directly registered through BMCC’s Continuing Education).

The lack of attendance alone DOES NOT entitle the student to a refund of tuition or the cancellation of tuition still due. 100% refund will be made to any registrant who submits a request in writing two (2) business days before the first session of the class; 50% refund before the second session of the class.   There will be no refund thereafter.  Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing.

We will not issue refunds for classes which have been postponed due to inclement weather or other circumstances beyond our control. We will make every effort to reschedule such classes.

If you purchased your class on Coursehorse, then our Refund & Cancellation policy applies to your purchase. If you are entitled to a refund, or have any questions, please visit the Coursehorse site in New York and contact their customer service team.

Should BMCC Continuing Education cancel a class that you purchased through CourseHorse, you will receive a full refund or credit. Hi there. You are eligible for the training. You must be aware that this training is solely a certificate program and not a certification one. Students are not eligible to sit for the National certification. If you are looking to become certified this is not the course for you as they do not do live Venipunctures, capillaries, and EKGs.

Good Day, I am licensed by the state of NewYork as a healthcare professional, in Massage Therapy, (LMT). I am also trained as a Surgical Technologist, but not working in the field. Finally, I’m am one semester away from completing a Master’s in Public Health; would I be able to take this course?

Hi there! Preferably you should be an Allied Health Professional and not a student. If you still want to take the course for the information itself you are more than welcomed to but understand that this is not a certification course. You will not be eligible to sit for a National certification exam of any kind. Hope this helps!

Hi Cassandra! The requirement is that a student must be an Allied Health Professional; the training is not limited to only nurses. But anyone registering for the course should be someone who is working in the Allied Health field in a medical facility.

In this class, students complete hands-on training with professional medical equipment. Students perform EKGs on patients (under the supervision of a medical professional), collect blood, and label the specimen collection tubes with the patient’s name and date of birth. All hands-on skills will be done using the simulation mannequins (no live EKG, venipuncture and capillaries done).
