In this class, you'll focus on improving your auditioning through making confident choices—both in your audition and in your life as an artist. Guided by casting director David Caparelliotis, you'll have an honest discussion about what auditioning in this current world means and explore techniques to create the best audition possible.
This class might be for you if you:
- Are an actor committed to pushing yourself to expand your auditioning skills.
- Want to be actively auditioning and need to understand the ever-changing landscape.
In this class you will:
- Work on monologues, sides, and cold readings, which will be a mixture of pieces David handpicks for you and/or material you are working on for upcoming or recent auditions.
- Engage in a specific and timely focus on self tapes, negotiating the realities of having to be your own director, lighting designer, camera op, editor, and more, without compromising the integrity or quality of your most important tasks.
- Receive individualized feedback geared toward helping you be a stronger auditioner and more confident actor, whether you’re auditioning in the room or virtually.
- Explore the art of physically and mentally showing up.
- Gain important information from both working on your feet and also watching others and absorbing David's feedback and adjustments.
By the end of this class you will:
- Be able to deliver a strong, insightful, and informed read based on the text and material at hand.
- Be prepared to excel in any virtual audition situation, armed with the skills and confidence you need to make a great impression.
