Sculpture Sketching Animals
Making the jump from figure drawing to conceptual sculpture can be a huge challenge.
In this two-day workshop, students will create multiple small figures, observed quickly from life. The theme of this class to increase the students’ ability to understand proportion, gesture, mass, and movement in sculptural form. Armature building, proportional systems, and tool making will be discussed.
THE WORKSHOP WILL INCLUDE:
Two models working separately on both days.
I. DAY 1 - 5/4:
INTRO - REFERENCES, IDEATION, ARMATURE
A presentation by Adam on his career history and working methods.
3-3.20PM - Intro & Presentation
3.20-3.40PM - Initial demo
3.40-4.10PM - Armature
4.10-4.30PM - Secondary Demo
4.30-5PM - Second Phase
5-8PM - General Work
II. DAY 2 - 5/11:
3-3.30PM - Anatomical Demo
3.30-8PM - General Work - notate a few technical focuses like texture, etc.
