What you'll learn in this wordpress training:

Learn how to negotiate the state-of-the-art publishing platform that is WordPress. This course is the first of two classes that will give you hands-on, step-by-step training on how to use Wordpress to build your website. Learn how to use WordPress's new Gutenberg editor to layout your content. Get valuable insights on using this new block editor to have a more granular control of how your content is presented to your users and customers.

Now you'll be able to administer where your images, videos and text appear on your pages without having to learn how to code. You'll also receive valuable tips and insights on blogging and optimizing your content for search engines (SEO) to help you increase your traffic and improve your site's performance. This class is appropriate for both Wordpress.com sites and self-hosted Wordpress.org sites.

The instructor will present this virtual course in real time with students using Google Meet so you will have an opportunity to get questions answered and get individualized help. Students will need a laptop or tablet with camera, microphone and internet connection for this online class and will receive an email invite from the instructor the day before the class with instructions on how to participate in this course using Google Meet.

There will an hour lunch break during class as well as two 5-minute breaks.

Prerequisite: Basic computer and Internet skills

Notes:

Class time is in MT. The instructor will be using Google Meet to conduct this online class and will email students an invite to participate in the class. Once the invitation is accepted students will receive an email from Google calendar with the link to join the meeting.

Refund Policy

If CFU cancels a class, you have the option for a full refund of the tuition or to move your registration to another session of the class.

If you cannot attend a class you must contact the registration office at least 72 hours prior to your first class meeting. There are no refunds if you cancel out of/cannot attend your class. With 72 hours advanced notice we can transfer you to another available class or give you a non-refundable tuition credit to use towards another class in the future. There will be a $7 transaction fee for dropping or transferring out of the original class.

If you need to cancel out of a Computer class with less than 72 hours advanced notice, there is no credit issued, but you will be able to take the class at a later time on a standby basis (waiting until the day before to opt in so that CFU knows that the class is running and that there is space).

If you need to cancel a Spanish class under 72 hours, you will receive a non-refundable class credit for 50% of the tuition for the class. Tuition credit is valid for one year from date of issue and cannot be redeemed for cash and is non-refundable. There is no option for dropping a class after the class has begun.

Great for beginners on how to use wordpress platform. Goes through each function in detail. You'll pretty much learn how to operate the platform by the time all is said and done.
