Class Description

Description

Spanish 8 introduces students to the subjunctive mood through the study of the present tense forms only. This course covers the conjugation of both regular and irregular verbs in the subjunctive mood and teaches you how to construct grammatically correct sentences expressing wishes, doubts, and other subjunctive concepts. You will learn to distinguish between examples such as "I wish you could come to the class today" and "We hope you will have a great trip," understanding the underlying grammatical principles that govern subjunctive usage.

Through careful study, you will develop the ability to choose appropriately between the indicative mood, which expresses objective reality, and the subjunctive mood, which expresses uncertainty, desire, or possibility when expressing your ideas. Upon completing this class, you will have developed a solid understanding of the subjunctive mood, including its various conjugation patterns and practical applications. You will be able to confidently express wishes, doubts, impersonal expressions, and similar concepts that require subjunctive mood construction.

Pre-requisite: Spanish 1 through Spanish 7 classes or equivalent knowledge.
