Join us at this special holiday themed photo walk to photograph the Capitol Christmas tree and the area around the Capitol building from sunset to twilight, then into the night.
We’ll begin photographing at the reflecting pool and Capitol with the beautiful light at the end of the day. This will be the perfect time to photograph the iconic view of the Capitol and the Reflecting Pool during the golden hour thru the blue hour. Moving closer at twilight will give us picture perfect shots of the Capitol with the lighted tree in the foreground.
We conclude by photographing at other areas on the grounds which offer great views of the lighted Capitol in the darkness of night.
During this class you will learn about creative uses of perspective, and using framing in your compositions. This will also be a great opportunity to practice low light photography, and we will discuss settings and tips to help you capture high quality photos. You will even have the opportunity to use camera motion to create abstract and impressionistic photographs.
Throughout the class the instructor works with each student as they photograph to ensure a strong understanding of capturing the lights and night photography principles. This class is small enough where he can work with each individually person so all skill levels are welcome from beginner to advanced.
If time allows we will photograph the holiday decorations outside the US Botanic Gardens.
