Students will create their own beautiful sterling silver pendant using various metalworking techniques.
- Measuring and cutting sterling silver sheet and wire
- Measuring and cutting bezels for different stones
- Texture/embellish jewelry using various methods
- Preparing proper joints for soldering
- Multiple soldering steps
- Filing, sanding and polishing
- Chemically oxidizing non-ferrous metals
- Using a flex shaft rotary tool
Intermediate class- This class involves multiple solder joins as well as different types of soldering, sawing and working with bezels.
Prerequisites- Previous soldering experience required. Our Simple Stack Rings Class, Bangles Class and Organic Hoops Class are all acceptable prerequisites.
If you are ready to elevate your jewelry making knowledge, this is a great class to take!!! Our experienced metalsmith instructor will walk you through choosing a stone, measuring and cutting a bezel and making multiple solder joints as you create your piece. You will use multiple metalsmithing tools to sand, polish and set stones into a one-of-a kind setting.
