Fun & Fancy Calligraphy: The Pointed Pen

Take an in depth journey into the art of modern calligraphy with this 3-week session of calligraphy classes in Seattle. Learn how to create beautiful letterforms using pointed pens which are the style used to create Copperplate and Spencerian calligraphy and are being used today by many calligraphers particularly for modern calligraphy hands. Have fun putting your new skills to use by practicing addressing envelopes, making greeting cards, place cards and other simple projects. Students will learn to practice connecting letters and making words the 2nd week and learn tips and tricks for greeting cards and envelopes and finish the 3rd week with full sentences, as well as layout and practice of a short poem or quotation on fine paper. Students will also learn how to use a variety of inks - all while creating your own modern calligraphy style.

Student will also receive a complimentary Calligraphy Starter Kit (1 pen nibs, pen holder and 1/2 oz supply of ink as well as calligraphy instruction booklet with sample alphabet guides). All papers and inks will be provided. Great class for beginners who have never picked up a calligraphy pen, but also great for all levels to continue to grow and perfect the art of calligraphy.
