Description

Jump into the creative world of 2D animation using Procreate Dreams, one of the most accessible and powerful animation apps available today. This camp is designed for students who are new to animation and want to learn the craft in a hands-on, project-based environment where every lesson builds directly on the last.

This camp will teach you:

  • Navigating the Procreate Dreams interface with confidence
  • The 10 core principles of animation
  • How to animate a walking cycle
  • Character stylization and design
  • How to stylize and animate realistic movement
  • Lip-syncing techniques

Detailed Schedule

Day 1: Getting comfortable with the interface through the classic animator's exercise: bouncing balls. Learn the basics of timing, spacing, and easing.

Day 2: Animating special effects and exploring the principle of overlapping action for more natural, fluid movement.

Day 3: Acting and lip-syncing. Students add their own animated performances on top of live video footage.

Day 4: Designing a character model sheet. Students develop a consistent, fully drawn character ready for animation.

Day 5: Bringing it all together by animating a complete walk cycle for your own original human or human-like character.
