Eric Jacobson

Teaches at Foundation Center

Eric B. Jacobson has over ten years of experience in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector. As Principal and Founder of Proaireton Consulting, he currently helps organizations to clarify and articulate their work in order to attract more support to their causes. He takes a participatory, client-driven approach that focuses organizations’ work, unifies and energizes their staff, and strengthens their messaging. He has conducted several trainings on planning, communications, and fundraising with the Foundation Center in San Francisco. During his time in philanthropy, he supported organizations small and large to improve their financial sustainability, enhance their communications, conduct scientific research, and develop their programs. Previously, he worked in nonprofit communications and fundraising for environmental organizations. Eric has extensive experience with theory of change development, strategic planning, and logic models within both private foundations and nonprofit organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts degree in Conservation Biology from Columbia University. Eric is currently working towards a Master of Science in Organizational Development (MSOD) at the University of San Francisco. He is also an internationally-recognized West Coast Swing dance instructor.
