Learn how to check and adjust your valve clearances, change spark plugs, replace the air filter and sync your throttle bodies or carburetors. Changing engine oil and coolant is permitted as well, however additional service items outside of these tasks will be considered extra and can only be done if time permits.
This is an ADVANCED workshop. We strongly request that if you are signing up to take this workshop that you have familiarity with working with basic tools and have done prior maintenance on your motorcycle. If not, we encourage you to take the Minor Service Workshop, or similar, first. We recommend that you can get to your valve covers on your own or by following the manual, with little guidance, which typically involves removing fairings, gas tank, air box, etc. The instructor is there to help and give pointers, but not hold your hand until you actually get to the valve covers – then the real work begins, and that is what this workshop is all about.
Oil, Oil Filter, and Spark Plugs may be purchased at Moto Guild during the workshop. We also stock air filters for many bikes - let us know if you would like one and we can be sure to have one on hand.
If you bring your own oil and oil filter there will be a $5 disposal fee due at end of class.
Due to differences in complexity between different engines, pricing depends on the number of valves/cylinders you have.
NOTE: At this time we cannot accommodate the RSV4, Panigale, 996, 998, 1098 (desmoquattro), or ZX-14/Concours in this workshop, but you can inquire about a 1-on-1.
