What you'll learn in this portrait drawing class:

Create colorful and unique pet portraits from start to finish using your own photographs to paint creatures of all kinds, from furry to feathery to scaly!

In this class, you will learn to create a pet (or other animal) portrait that is unique to you as the artist as well as to your subject. We will cover concepts in composition, style, and effects to create animalian details like fur.

In this class, you'll learn how to:

  • How to create a compelling composition.
  • How to draw animals with believability and personality.
  • Create different animal textures such as fur.
  • Hone a style of rendering animals that is all your own.

Students will walk away with: at least one unique piece of artwork based on an animal photo of your choosing; a better understanding of composition techniques; and new skills in rendering different textures with paint.

Open to both acrylic and oil artists.

Open to any skill level, but beginners will need basic experience with drawing and painting (i.e. already know how to work with acrylics or oils, and their mediums).
