Marissa Moss
Marissa Moss has written more than seventy books, from picture books to middle-grade and young adult novels. Best known for the Amelia's Notebook series (over 5 million sold), her books are popular with teachers and children alike. Her picture book, Barbed Wire Baseball, won the California Book Award, Gold medal. Marissa is also the founder of Creston Books, an independent children's publishing house.

Jessica Zitter
Dr. Jessica Zitter, MD, MPH, is committed to changing the current paradigm of end-of-life medical decision-making. She builds bridges between patients and the healthcare team, striving to offer care aligned with each patient’s values and preferences. She has come to see that patients empowered with knowledge can die well, even beautifully. Dr. Zitter practices Critical and Palliative Care medicine at Highland Hospital, a public hospital in Oakland, California. She attended Stanford University and Case Western Reserve University Medical School and earned her Masters in Public Health from University of California, Berkeley. Her medical training includes an Internal Medicine residency at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and a fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care at the University of California, San Francisco. She is also co-founder of Vital Decisions, a telephone-based counseling service for patients with life-limiting illness. Dr. Zitter is the author of the new book, Extreme Measures – Finding a Better Path to the End of Life, and is a regular contributor to The New York Times on these issues, and her writing has appeared in The Atlantic, The Huffington Post, Pacific Standard and JAMA, The Journal of the American Medical Association. She is featured in the short documentary Extremis, which won top honors at the Tribeca and San Francisco International Film Festivals and is now streaming on Netflix.

Mark Zitter
Mark Zitter founded The Zetema Project in 2016 to help inform and energize the dormant national healthcare conversation. He is Chairman and Founder of Zitter Health Insights, a business intelligence firm that provides insights focused on optimizing patient access to pharmaceuticals to life science companies, specialty pharmacies and managed healthcare organizations. Mr. Zitter was co-founder and CEO of Vital Decisions, a telephone counseling company for patients with life-limiting illnesses, which was sold to a private equity firm in 2012.
Mr. Zitter has authored four books and numerous articles on health care. He founded the Society of Chief Medical Officers and has been an editorial advisor for Evidence-Based Oncology and Pharmaceutical Executive. He has produced and chaired many of the nation’s largest conferences on specialty pharmacy, quality improvement, disease management and pharmacoeconomics. He was publisher of the first newsletters in outcomes management and pharmacoeconomics.
Zitter holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BA from Wesleyan University. He has been an invited speaker at hundreds of meetings, and has been a guest lecturer at Stanford Graduate School of Business, Harvard School of Public Health, Yale Medical School, Haas Business School at UC Berkeley and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is past Chairman of SFJAZZ and is on the Board of Governors of the Commonwealth Club of California, where he chairs a series on end-of-life issues.
