Dr. Joseph Sacco is board certified in family medicine and hospice and palliative medicine. The chief medical officer of the Connecticut Hospice, Inc., America’s first hospice, he is also the founder, in 2004, and former medical director of the palliative medicine consultation service and hospice inpatient service at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center. He is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the Yale School of Medicine and has been the palliative medicine director of the New York Reduce Avoidable Hospitalization (NYRAH) grant since 2012, and medical director since 2014. He has published in Health Affairs, the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and the New York Times.
