Most of us have never moonlighted as a pirate or worked for the CIA, but in this 1 Day Online Personal Essay class, 2x NY Times Modern Love Alum Sara Eckel will share her pro insight to help you get your name in print. Through informative craft lectures and fun in-class exercises, you’ll unearth the universal truth in your particular experience, figure out the specific POV that makes your story stand out, and most importantly, impress editors with your ability to make a common experience seem fresh and new. By the end of class, you’ll have a better understanding of the direction in which you want to go, a start to your essay, and some personal essay ninja skills to get you through the draft.
