Description
What you'll learn in this painting class:
Taught by CFA faculty member Evan Kitson, this course explores the vitality of the human figure via gesture, rhythm, and structural movement cues. By studying the form and functions of the human figure, we're able to gain greater insight into the many ways the body may compose itself.
In this six-week online course, we'll spend each lesson on a major concept relative to representing the human form in various poses (non-static!) In these drawings, we'll prioritize gesture, proportion, perspectival cues, structure, as well as character and action. We'll be making use of photography, historic drawings, paintings, and sculptures as our dissected source imagery, giving us a wide variety of materials and methods to discuss.
This course is ideal for someone looking to get into figure drawing or someone looking to refine their current figurative skillset. Optional references will be provided. Material use is very open. Class recordings will be available for an additional six weeks after the course ends, giving participants lots of time with the material!

Remote Learning
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
Refund Policy
100% refund will be issued up to seven days after the first class. After this, no refund will be issued.
MAKE-UP POLICY
Unfortunately, we do not offer makeup classes. The instructor can tell them what they missed. Most of our classes are taught atelier style. If there is a demonstration during the particular session, after the demonstration the instructor goes to each student to work with them on a one-to-one basis. During this time the instructor can work with the student who missed the previous week, talk with them and explain what to do.
