He writes for The Huffington Post, serves on the board of the nonprofit Resilience Advocacy Project, and has been an improvisational comedian at theaters in Los Angeles and New York for close to two decades. He is the founder of Communication Upward, and received a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School.

Marti Fischer is the principal at Marti Fischer Group, LLC. Her work guides individuals, nonprofit organizations and businesses to position themselves and communicate effectively about their work and its value. Marti is a co-author of The Nonprofit Consulting Playbook, radio host of “Community Discussions” on WPKN-FM, adjunct professor at Baruch College and frequent presenter and trainer in communication tools, professional development skills and fundraising.
