Miya Osaki, Chair, MFA Design For Social Innovation, SVA 

Miya Osaki is the chair of the Design For Social Innovation MFA program at the School of Visual Arts. In addition, Miya is the founding partner at Diagram, a New York-based, women- and minority-owned healthcare design studio. Miya brings her skills in interaction design, human-centered research, storytelling, and behavior design to create experiences aiming to better outcomes and enable patients to better improve their health, wellbeing, care, and quality of life. 

She is also the co-host of the podcast, Yah, No, focused on the intersection of design, business, and healthcare. Prior to Diagram, Miya served as Director of Experience Design at Johnson & Johnson’s Global Strategic Design Office creating innovative solutions chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and chronic pain. She is a pioneer recipient of the DesignMatters Fellowship at Art Center College of Design where she collaborated with the UNICEF Innovation Team. A west-coast native, Miya currently lives in Brooklyn, NY. 

Jon Wasserman, Associate Director of Program Management & Global Social Impact Lead, frog 

Jon is an Associate Director of Program Management and Global Social Impact Lead, based out of the NY studio. As a program manager, his purpose is to catalyze and support everyone’s best work. As a frogImpact Global Lead, he is focused on positioning frog to design opportunities and interventions for communities in need. These passions intersect in his commitment to inclusion and human-centered design. While at frog, Jon has managed programs across various industries (Financial Services, Healthcare, Telecom…), and portfolio areas (Digital Products, Experience Strategy, Design Research, Industrial Design…). 

He has worked on social impact projects locally (Robin Hood Foundation) and internationally (UNICEF/GE). Prior to joining frog, Jon worked in the commercial photography industry. Pivoting to technology and social innovation, he pursued a graduate degree at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program.
