Jiayan was born and raised in China, in the Zhejiang province. She moved to the US about 5 years ago and has been tutoring children and adults Chinese since 2013. She is passionate about teaching Chinese and focuses on teaching the language in different context and situations. She was in a punk disco band called Unattractive Girl once in Oakland, California. She was the vocalist and happy to yell in the basement! When not teaching, Jiayan likes to Instagram her cat a lot. :) She's excited to teach Chinese language and Chinese culture to you all!
