What you'll learn in this personal finance class:

We live longer, make less money, pay more for products and services, and are frequently asked to conduct unpaid labor. For the sake of our financial security, women must push back on these pervasive norms. Join us for a low-stress, relatable workshop where we will cut through the b.s. and provide practical advice and useful tips to help you secure a more stable and flexible financial future. Our aim to remove the fear and helplessness surrounding money management and empower you to take charge.

Whether you are cis, trans, non-binary, gender-fluid/queer or intersex, if you identify with the feminine experience, this class is designed for you, but all are welcome. Anyone holding student loan and/or credit card debt, struggling to build a savings account, or dealing with stagnant income would benefit from this class.

Note: investing and investment products outside of retirement accounts will not be discussed--stay tuned for level 2 and up classes!

School Notes: OUTSIDE FOOD & DRINKS ARE NOT ALLOWED. QED has coffee, tea, soda, beer & wine plus snacks and pre-made wraps and sandwiches available.

Refund Policy

We require at least seven (7) days' notice before a class in order to issue a refund and there are no transfers to future classes allowed. We're a small operation and purchase our own supplies and keep classes extremely affordable, so we have to operate this way just to stay in business.

But, all is not lost, tickets are transferable meaning we will allow anyone to take your place in class, so check around with your friends to see if someone else would like your spot.

In case of bad weather, classes WILL always take place unless the subway system is closed down. If you have issues traveling, please keep this in mind when you purchase your ticket. If we do cancel for weather or an emergency, we will try to reschedule the class on the same day of the week at the same scheduled time as soon as possible. If you cannot make the rescheduled date, we will refund you the price of your seat.

This class was not at all what I was expecting. I was hoping for information about retirement and tips on how to pay off loans. I did not find this class helpful but would be interested in a 2.0 version that went into more detail about IRA investing and 401ks

The instructor was very sharp and organized and kept saying "capitalism is the problem" which warmed my heart. I am really happy I went. I never imagined I would be the type of person to track all my expenses in a journal but I'm actually going to try because it seems like a really helpful first step, and that's all I needed. I had no retirement plan before this, but now I know I need a Roth IRA and multiple savings accounts. I just need them, because we have to survive under capitalism. The course also covered strategies for making more money. I thought it would stress me out but it actually relaxed me. Thank you for offering this course.
