What you'll learn in this guitar class:

Absolute and Total Beginners start here!

Starting from zero, learn basic chords like D, G, Em, C, D7, Am, C, A and E, with super broken down step-by-step explanations of chord diagrams, strings and fingers--and real songs by artists like John Legend, Sublime, Taylor Swift, Coldplay and more.

Yes, you really can and will learn to play guitar in this class!

Here's how it works:

  1. Attend class weekly. In every class you'll connect with your classmates, practice new skills step by step, and learn a new and fun song. Guitars are provided in NYC! (Need to miss a session? No problem--make it up with another group session for free or a discounted private lesson.)
  2. Practice is easy with comprehensive video tutorials, including a simple 2-minute Level 1 warm-up video. (Students will receive link after registration.)
  3. Graduate. Your teacher will let you know when you're ready to move to Level 2—or you can record a video of yourself playing along with that graduation video. (Students will receive link after registration.)
Most absolute beginner students feel ready for the next level after 6-8 sessions. But faster or slower is OK! You do you!

Prerequisites: None! Just bring your desire to rock!

Instruments: Guitars are available for use in the classroom but students are welcome to bring their own guitar.

Refund Policy

We have a strict 3 business days cancellation policy and there are no refunds with fewer than 3 business days.

  • You can withdraw from a class at any time after it begins by notifying us for a one hundred percent credit (not a refund) for future sessions which are scheduled after your drop date.
  • You can use that credit towards any other class session.
  • Please note that you can't get credit for sessions which ran before you contacted us.

Make-up Policy:

There are three great options to go over missed materials.

  • First, every student gets free lifetime access to hundreds of video tutorials and practice sessions, so you can simply take the online version of the session you missed.
  • Secondly, you can drop in on the same session of a different section of your class--for free.
  • Finally, we offer discounted private make-up lessons for students who want to go over their missed class one-on-one.

I really enjoyed the class and always wanted to learn how to play, but found it difficult to start on my own. I am truly an absolute beginner, and it was nice to take a class with peers that were at the same level. If you’ve always dreamed of playing guitar, I would recommend this class to turn the dream into reality. With a little commitment, it’s not as hard as you would think. Have fun!

The teacher was very professional, upbeat, patient, knowledgeable, and personable. He was encouraging and gave the right amount of challenge during the course.
