What you'll learn in this wine tasting class:

Have you ever wondered what makes a Sonoma Chardonnay different from French Chardonnay? It’s the question everyone should ask themselves when asking for a glass of wine. Wine isn’t just about the grape, it’s about the terroir (soil, place, climate, people). Join our weekly class as we round up the grapes of the world in a virtual tasting. Not only will we taste and discuss, we’ll learn about the history, place of origin and different styles of the focus grape.

For each class, we’ll recommend the wines to purchase and foods to pair with.

This week, we’ll start with possibly the most popular, definitely the most planted grape in the world - Cabernet Sauvignon.

We recommend you purchase a Cabernet Sauvignon from any of the designations below but it isn't required:

  • Maipo or Colchagua, Chile ($10- $20)
  • Northern Coast, California ($15- $40)
  • Bordeaux, France ($15-$50) *Note: Bordeaux is a blend of mostly Cabernet & Merlot - lately more and more Merlot. We recommend checking the wine before purchasing.
  • Margaret River or Coonawarra, Australia ($15-$50)

How it works

  • Purchase a ticket online (1 per log-in, regardless of how many people are in your group)
  • Download the Zoom app, if you don’t have it already (don’t worry, it’s free)
  • We’ll email you the log-in details and some tips on using the app
  • We’ll connect at the scheduled time and date and forget our troubles for a about an hour or so (classes may run a bit over but never less than an hour)
