The north of Italy is well known for its wines. Names like Chianti and Brunello, or Barolo and Barbaresco may come to mind, while Amarone is yet another revered member of the club. Even if you've never tasted these wines, the names likely ring familiar, and with good reason. The aforementioned come from places with the right conditions (soil, weather, etc.) for making delicious wines.
But there are other locations, other producers, and other grapes which, while no less delicious, are less celebrated. No, that's false. They are celebrated, by the people who have tasted and discovered them. But they're in the minority, which is why I'm hosting this class.
As for reds, we'll taste Nebbiolo from Valtellina, Lagrein from the Südtirol, and Rossese di Dolceacqua. There is nothing like them, some are inky and dark, others fresh and delicate. We'll explore whites from the Veneto, perhaps a Soave unlike any Soave you've had before, or perhaps bottles from the Tre Venezie.
Above all, I promise wines made with care and love, full of expression and haracter. Please join us!
