Create your very own Glass Bead Hair Ornaments! This beginner friendly workshop requires no experience and will focus on flameworking glass beads for hair accessories. Students will learn the general skills of glass beadmaking and walk away with decorative, one of a kind beads to adorn their hair and life with. This class will be split into two sections. The first half will focus on form and technique, and the second half will focus on additional design elements. The last 30 minutes of the class will be reserved to discuss the final product and how students can customize and finish the hair accessories they have created. There will be several demos throughout the duration of class and plenty of time for students to practice with guided instruction.
What to expect: Beadmaking requires a little practice at heat control with the torch to create successful beads. After demonstrations, expect to make between 2 - 6 successful objects in this class, and a couple failures, while gaining confidence and skill in the studio.
Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 14 and up.
Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.
This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
