More than five years living in Latin America--principally in Peru, but with stints also in Colombia and Mexico--made Spanish into an abiding passion for Michael, and it's that passion that he tries to transmit to his students as they wrestle with this crazy, sometimes frustrating, wildly beautiful language. For Michael, Spanish isn't just grammar and pronunciation (important as those are); it's literature, art, music, food, a whole different way of thinking and being. In his more than 15 years as a language teacher at universities, high schools, and language institutes, teaching both adults and children, in the U.S. and in South America, he has tried to show his charges the way to that other world, which is just a few conjugations and a rolled "r" away. ¡Vamos a explorarlo juntos!
