What you'll learn in this notary training:

Government institutions, banks, real estate and mortgage companies, plus many other businesses are seeking notaries. All prospective notaries must complete a course approved by the California Secretary of State. Our approved course will give you the most updated notary information and the knowledge you need to perform the duties correctly and to pass the state exam, which you can take immediately following the course. Becoming a notary & notary loan signing agent can be a great way to earn extra money, start your own business, or enhance your current career. Class fee includes valuable 70-page manual, notary public handbook, certificate of completion, and sample forms notaries use every day.

Before signing up for this class, check to see that you meet eligibility requirements for becoming a notary: visit and click “qualifications.” Note: Due to strict State regulations, no one is admitted after class begins. Check-in begins at 7:30 and class must begin promptly at 8:00AM. So have your current, official photo ID ready.

1) Have your government photo ID ready—when you enter the Zoom classroom. You must show a photo ID at the start, after lunch and at the end of the class.
2) You must be available the entire duration of the designated training hours.
3) You must be able to participate undisturbed, at a quiet location, where your face is visible via video and where you are able to present your ID during the class.
4) Log-on on time. Admittance to the class will close 15 minutes after the start time.
5) If you are absent from the virtual classroom you will not receive credit/certification.

Question from Anonymous
Now that classes are remote, how is the exam? Do you have to book another day for the exam and where?
Question from Ellie
Is the exam fee included in this price as well?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Ellie! Students wishing to take the state Notary Public Exam immediately following the class may register for it from 3:30-4:00 pm. Note: There is a $40 fee for the state exam. Bring an official photo ID, two #2 pencils, a 2”x2” passport-sized color photo and a separate $40 check made payable to the “Secretary of State.” If you can’t stay for the same-day exam, there are many other opportunities to take the exam.
Question from Beshoy K.
Hello. Stated above $30 included. Thanks
Answer from Georgia C. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hey Beshoy! You have to pay $30 for the materials fee, aside from the fees already paid at the time of registration
Question from anonymous
I would like to take the Notary Public class on Saturday the 20th, I was wondering if there is an exam to follow. Do you do the live screening on site? I have had a live screening in the past, do I need to update it for this? Please feel free to call me. I would love to sign up for the class today. Thank you Cara Theos
Answer from Georgia C. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Cara! Yes, you will have the State Exam after the class. No, The Live Scan is done after the student completed the notary class and State Exam (offer after the notary class). Sorry, each prospective notary public will need to take the Live Scan after completion of the above requirements.

Professor Rosie Reed is very knowledgeable, patient, she answers all your questions, She really gives her all to this class and really wants us all to pass. On our breaks and lunch she tries to come back early to answer any questions. At the end of the course she also made herself available if we had questions afterwards. I like to always be prepared so of course once she emailed the manual I made sure to take the time and read it and take my own Notes that way when I started the class course I wasn’t completely lost. I knew what she was talking about. I highly suggest you do the same. Don’t just go to the class and think everything is going to be reviewed you have must read. Just be prepared when you’re going to start the zoom class, have everything ready ahead of time, be logged in 10 minutes prior, have your ID. just follow the instructions. I highly recommend this class course.
