Question from Anonymous
I’m confused by the tools are available for sale comment. Are tools not provided during the class? How much are the tools? Do I know what the true cost of the class is if I don’t already own any supplies?
Answer from Kristin K. Verified Educator
Basically, if you like the offering of scrap glass that we provide, you will come out just under $100 (including the tuition, tools, and scrap glass). If you decide to purchase any special glass or larger sizes of the adhesive it could be more.
Question from Anonymous
Do you need the type of glass cutter that is used for stained glass?
Answer from Kristin K. Verified Educator
You do not need to have a glass cutter or glass cutting experience. All the tools and everything is available for sale at the shop for a discount in class. You just need to bring your picture frame.
Question from Wendy M.
I don't know what "Drop In Glass" is. Do you mean a frame with a glass front that is removable?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Wendy! Drop in glass means that when you turn over the frame and remove the backing the glass drops out. What you don't want is a document frame where the glass/document slides in from the side. Also, we suggest a decorative wooden frame since you permanently install the project into the frame. This way the frame can be painted or touched up if you damage it in any way. Hope this helps!
Question from RUTH A.
I am enrolled in your class for Sept 22nd, what other supplies in needed, besides the drop in a glass frame and safety glasses?
Answer from anonymous
Always wear closed-toe shoes for any of our classes. All other supplies are available for purchase in class at a discount for students. If you have already done mosaics you can bring your tools with you. Glass mosaic tools differ from tile mosaics.
