Laszlo Perlaky

Teaches at Houston Center for Photography

Dr. Laszlo Perlaky is a research scientist and Baylor College of Medicine faculty during the week and a Fine Art Nature and Wildlife photographic artist on the weekends. Besides his PhD and MS degrees in Life Sciences, he has a diploma from Professional Photography and took several workshops from highly regarded photographers.

For the first 20 years, he photographed black and white, and then transitioned to the chrome film, working with exclusively for the following 15 years, then worked in digital color about ten years. For the previous 7 years, he has worked in both digital color and black and white large-format (4×5 and 8×10) film. He is member of several photographic societies, and teaches a wide variety of photography classes and workshops at the Houston Center for Photography, Houston Audubon Society. He is a photography instructor at the Houston Photography Study Group and Vice President Print competition Chair at the Houston Photographic Society.

Laszlo’s photographs were published in magazines, books, calendars, and won several prizes in national and international photo competitions. Laszlo’s images extensively were presented in several art exhibitions in 2004-2014 and about 80 of Laszlo’s works are on permanent exhibition at several places in the Texas Medical Center, UH Pearland and UH Clear Lake.
