McDougal Sewing Centers

In 1940 Bob McDougal opened his retail sewing machine store and called it Bob McDougal Sewing Machine Co. located in the Houston Heights area. Mr. McDougal had several grandsons who started in the business by sweeping the floor. His oldest grand-son, Doug owned and operated the original store up until his death in 2013. His youngest grandson, Dan, owns and operates McDougal Sewing Center with the main store in Katy and five Joann’s locations. The family business continues with Dan and Karen Welch pictured at left.

We are the ONLY Premier Husqvarna Viking/Pfaff Dealer in the Houston area. We also sell Brother and Elna machines. Our sewing centers have been in continuous operation for 60 years in the Houston area. Our PHILOSOPHY is to provide our customers the finest products, expertise and instruction available. We do not sell machines in boxes; we sell relationships, sewing success and FUN!
