What you'll learn in this kids technology class:

Comic Strips have created an entire world of intriguing books, creative design, writing styles and pure art. If your student is the creative writing type, or perhaps loves design, storyboarding and character development - then this afterschool class is an incredibly fun opportunity to put their creativity to work in a whole new way! This class teaches the key software required to create, design and write comics fast and efficiently - making it easy to write and share without frustration. Join this first-time class opportunity, exclusively from Silicon STEM.

Tech Requirements for Desktop and Laptop Computers
• PC or MAC computers less than 7 years old should all work fine, but we recommend Windows XP or later, or OSX 10.7 or later, respectively
• Stable Internet connection with at least 1.2Mbps down and 600Kbps upload speeds. 
• Webcam – Either internal (built-in) or external camera
• Headphones with integrated mic are recommended but not required
• Note: While tablets will work to a certain extent, they are not advised because many students have difficulty seeing multiple screens. If the student must use a tablet, an external keyboard is recommended.

General Student Skills Requirements (Parents may need to assist young students with these items for the first few classes)
• Ability to access an Internet browser and navigate the web
• Ability to log into/operate Zoom
• Ability to navigate between multiple windows during class (i.e. students must be able to toggle between instructor’s screen on Zoom and their own screen)
• Ability to cut & paste using Ctrl X, C and V (windows), or Command X, C and V (mac).

Refund Policy
Course Cancellation: You understand that the school reserves the right to cancel a course. If a course is cancelled, you understand that you may enroll your child or yourself in another course. If none are available for the same dates, a refund will be issued for all monies paid to us for the cancelled course. Alternatively, the tuition paid for the cancelled course can be applied to a voucher that can be used during that same session or future sessions as space permits.

Cancellation and Payment Policy: Tuition is non-refundable if student cancels enrollment in a traditional after-school course or workshop within 1 week of start date. Tuition for summer camps is non-refundable if student cancels participation within 2 weeks of start date. However, tuition credit may be applied to other courses offered within 1 year of the cancelled course. A $25 returned check fee will be assessed for any checks returned.

Cancellations that qualify for a refund must be made by contacting CourseHorse.

No refunds will be issued for early withdrawal or dismissal from courses, workshops or camps due to absences, or dismissals due to behavioral issues.
