What you'll learn in this drink making class:

Experience the fine art of wine making as we take you through the step-by-step procedure of making your first varietal wine. Chardonnay to Estate grown Cabernet can be made. Wines are made in class with our equipment and guidance in the first of this two-session class. Fermentation is conducted in our temperature controlled cellar and is overseen by our winemaker experts.

What's included:

  • Basics of quality fine winemaking from grape to bottle.
  • Winemaking approaches and techniques.
  • Hands on winemaking vinting a 6 gallon vat.
  • Wine tasting and appreciation.
  • Wine aging, cellaring and building your personal wine cellar.

Racking: Participate in transferring your wine to the secondary fermenter vessel or have it done for you.

Notes:

  • Recycling is encouraged. You can bring in your own cleaned and unlabeled bottles or purchase new ones from $15.95 to $16.95 per case of 12. New corks are 25 cents each.
  • Ingredients are not included in the pricing. Ingredients cost from $80 to $195 for a 25 to 30 bottle vat.
  • During this 2 hour class, the pair will make 6 gallons of wine together. Make 28 to 30 bottles of excellent wine the first time.

Question from Anonymous
Thinking of giving as a gift what are the other associated costs
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! The varietal wine juice kit ranges from $70.00 to $185.95 and needs to be paid to Beverage Art Inc directly.
Answer from Charlie P. Verified Student
There are also smaller costs after the class incl. racking, labels, and bottles. Save $20 by racking the wine yourself. After scheduling bottling, BevArt will email instructions on creating labels. Design them online (or with a graphics editor) then send BevArt a .JPG of your work to print instead of paying extra. Also keep all your old wine bottles to be sterilized and re-used. Remove labels as best you can. You'll make about 2 cases at bottling. Doing this will make the extras around $20.

The class was Great! Just enough information and background to get me interested but not so much that I was impatient to start making wine! Perfect balance. I can't wait to taste the wine. The only suggestion I would make would be for course horse, I did not know you could order your wine kit ahead of time, if it was mentioned I missed it and would like to see tidbits like that have a more prominent place in the description. It was a great experience and I would do it again. Gail

This was such a fun class! We learned about wine making while sipping on wine and then got to make our own with the kit we purchased. I'm excited to go back and bottle the wine. I'd recommend this class to all wine lovers.
