Students can choose from a selection of routers bits to mold their frame and give it a unique look. Different techniques to glue up the frames are covered. Shaker Boxes

Learn about the history of the Shakers and their woodcraft. Shaker furniture is practical yet elegant in its simplicity. Working with prepared box bands, students learn to bevel, steam, and bend Shaker box bands then fit and tack them to lids and bottoms. Each student makes two to three boxes.

Woodworking 101

Interested in woodworking and looking for a way to get started? This course is designed to introduce students to safely use common woodworking machines and hand tools. We discuss how to approach work in the machine shop and at the workbench.
