Painting Flowers Alla Prima in Oil

This 3-day workshop will help you to approach painting flowers in oil directly with a loose, fresh, soft approach. There will be demonstrations, instruction, critique and guidance while you paint from Pat. You will learn approaches to understand and simplify flower shapes, depict form thru observations of light and shadow patterns, mix color and paint vases and containers. We will be working from a photo provided by Pat day one to understand and practice the basic technique and then working from your own fresh flower set-ups on day 2 & 3.
Pat is known for her romantic landscape, garden and floral paintings that have a soft, impressionistic feel. She has had over a 20 solo shows including shows at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia and Callaway Gardens. Passionate about flowers, Pat has studied floral design at the Halls Design School. She teaches painting workshops in the U.S., Caribbean and Europe, including past workshops at Monet’s Garden in Giverny, France. She is author of "Bella Italia, Italy Through the Eyes of an Artist".
